I am a  therapist who specializes in sexuality, complex trauma, intimacy, body image spirituality and personal development. I am passionate about working  with individuals to help them know themselves better and experience deeper and healthier relationships with themselves and others. In my work as a therapist I have found that many clients have needed help with navigating healthy /healthier relationships. I have also found that many of my clients have had a hard time finding their voice after experiencing trauma. 

I believe that our relationships have the ability to greatly influence and impact us, from our  thoughts and moods to how we treat ourselves and others. This belief also guided my doctoral dissertation on the impact of  male partner influence on body image dissatisfaction in African American Women. 

I work with a variety of issues and mental health concerns. These include but are not limited to addictions, relationship concerns, sexuality concerns, low self esteem, perfectionism, social anxiety, LGBTQA issues, body image difficulties, co-dependency issues, and grief and loss. My work is informed by psychodynamic theory, which simply means I help to discover deeper patterns and dynamics in your life that may be causing your upsets. I may also point out habits in your thinking which lead to anxiety or low moods. I am also certified in yoga and often use breathwork to help my clients get out of their heads and into your bodies, teaching an ability to calm oneself.

I received my  Masters in Clinical Psychology 2008 and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology 2010 from the Illinois School of Professional  Psychology. In my past experience have provided services in a variety of settings including Fantus Clinic at Stroger Jr. Hospital, Outpatient Psychiatry and Diabetes Clinics, and the Emergency Room Psych Triage, Cook County Jail, and Haymarket Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.

I have advanced training in sexuality and sex therapy and am kink and poly aware, always Iooking at sexuality with a sex positive perspective .
