Elizabeth Piatt, MSW

She/hers Elizabeth@logansquaretherapist.com

As a social worker and therapist, I believe we both suffer and heal in relationships, or from lack thereof, and that our connection to ourselves and others is one of the most essential and powerful components of life. I work from a relational, trauma-informed lens and draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and relational orientations such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment theory, among others. I also utilize systemic, strengths-based, feminist, somatic and mind body approaches. I believe that you must bring your whole self to therapy, and I believe in going slow in order to go deep. Our work together will be approached with curiosity and compassionately built on trust and rapport. My work with you is gentle, intentional, and responsive.

I have worked in a variety of settings ranging form summer camps, public school classrooms, non profits, adolescent substance use, and family and relational therapy settings. I serve individuals, families, and relationships with a primary interest in supporting adults across the lifespan and older adolescents (14 years old +).

I received my undergraduate degree from Northwestern where I studied Art and played division I softball, my Master of Art in Teaching from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver.

Collaborative healing is my honor and privilege, and I am committed to practicing from an anti-racist, decolonial, sex and body positive, and queer, gender, and trans affirming stances.
